There should be a strong foundation in order to keep your house strong. It’s also true with teeth. To keep your teeth healthy you need a healthy gum. But, according to ratings there are 3 in 4 adults who are 35 years old and above that has a disease in the gum.
The culprit behind losing of teeth, which causes problems in the gum is the plaque, it’s a bacterial film, which are formed in one’s teeth. If it’s not removed through flossing and brushing, the plaque becomes a tartar. Plaque and tartar are now trapped at the pocket, on your teeth’s base. There’s a cycle that ensued behind this disease: a trap tartar cause an inflammation, which prevents the removal of tartar. Pockets are getting deeper and deeper damaging that structures that traps tartar, more toxins will be released, thus the bacteria’s are damaging the teeth further. There’ll be an increased teeth disease when tobacco is used, or more medications.

1. Gums are bleeding easily, even if it’s only from brushing gently.
2. Gums are shiny
3. Gums are tender, swollen and red
4. Commonly, it’s painless unless for tenderness if you touch the gums.
If you noticed it early on, this condition is often reversed with proper flossing and brushing.
The periodontitis, it’s an advanced type of disease in the gums, it damages your bones and ligaments of your teeth, it happens when the plaque turns to become a tartar. It cause the gum to draw back from your teeth, fallout and loosen. The condition is treated with scraping of tartar in the roots of your teeth or through surgery of the gums.
The advance form of periodontitis had been distinguished by recession of the gums as well as destruction of bones. On this period, your tooth with this disease is extracted when the surgical procedure does not restore the bone support. It’s the cause behind losing of teeth for adults.
Prevention
To have a good hygiene for your teeth, like flossing once per day and brushing helps in preventing infections of gums, loss of tooth and cavities. To have your check up and cleaned by orthodontics or dentists even once per year is very important. It doesn’t matter if you’re brushing well, plaque and tartar buildup happens causing problems in the gums.
Watch out what you’re eating
The food that your eating is contributing to the decay of your tooth if they’re mixed with bacteria’s in the mouth. In order to prevent the teeth from having decay:
• Eat lots of food rich in calcium like yogurt, cheese and milk.
• Avoid eating sweets like chocolates, taffy, pastries, bubble gum and toffee.
• When chewing bubble gum choose the brands that are sugar free.
• When you eat sweets rinse the mouth, and brush the teeth.
